Each Sonic Character's Best Game Ranked

1.  Sonic the Hedgehog - Sonic Unleashed. Before we give our reasoning, first you just need to forget about the Werehog. We're talking about Sonic here. First of all, Sonic's voice was so accurately executed in this game. It was absolutely bang on. We're not just saying this because fans are extremely obsessed with Jason Griffith and hate Roger's 'deep tone', but Sonic's voice in this game was just right. Secondly, that opening cutscene was, to put it bluntly, EPIC! As well as this action just being a pleasure to watch, it also shows just how powerful of a character Sonic really is. Also, we can't forget about that meme people made out of his face. Thirdly, the animation was fantastic; much better than Forces even though that was brought out almost 10 years later. Apart from Sonic being a navy blue instead of a royal blue, the animation of Unleashed was incredible. However, in this game, Sonic's personality is debatable. We like the cocky dude from Sonic Colors.
2. Tails the Fox - Tails Adventures. Who knew that this little dude goes on adventures all by himself! In this game, Tails' abilities are almost limitless. He makes his way through levels using small gadgets and for underwater levels, he uses his submarine. This was definitely a strategy game where you were made to use your brain. Sometimes you'd get to a wall that can't break. Later on in the game, you collect the weapons that are needed to break that wall. Then you'd have to go back and forth in the levels in order to collect all items. Did you know Tails can receive Sonic's powers in this game? The Sonic weapon allows Tails to jump, roll and run freely like how Sonic does. He can also receive the Knuckles and Fang weapons in this game. The Knuckles gadget allows Tails to punch through walls and enemies. This means that Tails doesn't really need any of his friends?
3. Knuckles the Echidna - Sonic & Knuckles. Since Knuckles' first appearance, he hasn't really done enough as a main rival for Sonic. For example, in modern games such as Sonic Lost World, Knuckles appeared for about 30 seconds and had no purpose in the plot at all. Back in the 90s, when the Sonic franchise was brand new, Knuckles was the cool guy (not that faker Shadow). Everybody loved Knuckles as he had way cooler abilities than Sonic. For this reason, his debut is his best game. We can't forget to mention how mad Sega made fans by making Knuckles such a dope in Sonic Boom. As for modern Knuckles, wait... Who is he again?
4. Dr. Eggman - Sonic Unleashed. No, we're not just saying Sonic Unleashed to give him the same as Sonic. Eggman really was a beast in this game. Even though Sonic had the chaos emeralds with him, Dr. Eggman managed to trap Sonic and do that thing to him (whatever that was). Eggman turned Sonic into werehog. Although nobody knows how this benefitted Eggman in any way, the fact that he even managed to trap Sonic is a miracle for him. But still - why did Eggman do that? It's not like he made Sonic turn evil. If anything, Sonic gained from this. He got enhanced strength. Well, who cares. Eggman was epic in this game. Generations came very close though.
5. Amy Rose - Sonic Free Riders. When is Amy Rose not annoying? This game. In Sonic Free Riders, Amy wasn't her irritating self. Usually Amy is only there to stalk Sonic which is just awfully creepy. For once Amy had banter with the whole gang of Sonic characters instead of banging on about a marriage that would never happen.
6. Shadow the Hedgehog - Sonic the Hedgehog (2006). Shadow was certainly at his smartest in this game. Recently, Shadow has been acting a bit dumb (Team Sonic Racing, Twitter Takeover). And in his game (Shadow the Hedgehog), he was stupid in a different way. We'll give him the excuse of having amnesia. But Sonic 2006, Shadow was really acting how he should. People who call Shadow edgy now are usually taking the mic. But this game we're serious. He really was Shadow the EDGEHOG in this game. First we need to say how amazing Shadow's quotes were in this game. 'Even if the World decides to become my enemy, I will fight like I always have'. This is probably one of the best Sonic quotes ever as fans never forget it. After Shadow said that quote, he absolutely destroyed Mephiles and his legion of Mephiles'. This was one of the games where Shadow the Hedgehog removed his inhibitor rings and ran through enemies like a G. Defeating Mephiles was a walk in the park for him. Jason Griffith also mastered Shadow the Hedgehog's voice. Nobody beats that. Nobody.
