Prison Island
Ivo Robotnik said, "How dare you try to escape?! What a pain-"
"What are you trying to do egg-shaped man?!" asked Sonic.
"I have a name; it is Dr. Ivo Robotnik. As for your question... That's none of your got damn business!"
Maria looked out of the window of her room. From high up, she could see Sonic trapped in the main department.
"Shadow! You must act now! Do something to stop this! When I spoke to Dr. Gerald, he ignored me. Perhaps he will listen to you since you're his creation." Maria said.
"If you say, then it's my duty to speak to him Maria. No worries. I won't let them do harm to that kid." Shadow replied.
Shadow sprinted out of Maria's room and aggressively opened the door of Gerald's resting room.
Green Hills
"Oh Sonic! Where do you be going when I'm not around? If only you knew what it feels to be a mother, you'd understand my pain and not disappear. Ah, Sonic, ah."
Aleena stroked her Son's light brown scarf, trying to keep herself content whilst he was away. She had already spent a night without her son. She couldn't wait much longer.
Prison Island
"DR! How could you?" Shadow shouted.
"What do you think you're doing barging in like this? Who do you think you are? Me? asked Gerald.
"Are you going to use these creatures for your own desire?"
"How dare you question me! I am your creator!"
"You are not the God or creator of anything - except evil!"
"Enough! ...Enough." screamed Gerald. Gerald Robotnik began to cough and breathe heavily, simply because he was way to old and ill to even speak.
"How can you be the cause of such deception? What is this? If you really cared for Maria, then you would act right and do what she says." Shadow said.
"I'm going to rule the world so that the young girl can have everything she bloody wants!"
"If you took the time to listen to her, you'd know who she really is and what it is that she wants. She can travel the world without you ruling it."
Gerald replied (out of breath), "Stop! Listen. I couldn't care less for my granddaughter. This is about me! I want the world, and that's what I'll get!"
"So all this time it's been about you? So you never cared about Maria's future? Then you shall perish!"
"NO! PLEASE!
Shadow removed his inhibitor rings and destroyed everything in his path including Dr. Gerald Robotnik within a few seconds. Shadow gasped as he turned around, he went to check on Gerald to see if he was still alive.
"Dr?" he said.
However, Gerald was no longer breathing.
"Well, he was going to die sometime soon anyway."
Maria entered as she thought Shadow had been a while. When she saw Dr. Gerald laying on the floor, she immediately ran towards him.
"Grandfather!" she yelled.
"Shadow, what have you done?"
Shadow put his head down feeling guilty.
"Speak!" she cried.
Shadow took a breath, "Maria. Dr only cared about himself, he said it with his own mouth that he didn't care about your life or your dreams."
"Even if he was doing the wrong thing, who said you could take his life?"
"Look Maria, I'm sorry. However, if he wasn't your grandfather, you would have told me to kill him long before."
"Shadow! You wouldn't know because you haven't experienced losing someone you love before. I never saw my father so Gerald was the only carer I had! Do you not then understand?"
"Maria-"
"Shadow! Go to your room!"
Shadow headed downwards to the main department. He went there in order to save Sonic.
"Shadow?!" Ivo shouted.
"Stay out of my way Dr! Otherwise this won't end well..."
It's true that Dr. Ivo Robotnik is afraid of Shadow, so he allowed him to save Sonic. Shadow set Sonic free.
"Where are you going to take me?" asked Sonic.
"I will return you to your home." Shadow replied.
"Who are you?"
"Shadow. Shadow the hedgehog. Now, enough with the questions."
Green Hills
Shadow very quickly skated his way back to Green Hills.
"Go ahead Sonic. And don't be getting involved with the Robotnik's again. That's my deal."
"You know I can't keep that promise!" Sonic replied.
Sonic dashed one way and Shadow the other. Sonic found his mother by a tree.
"Sonic! My dear!" Aleena cried.
Sonic ran towards his mother and held onto her arm.
"Are you alright? Where have you been?"
"Mom, Robotnik is kidnapping the animals in Green Hills and turning them into robots!"
"And who on Mobius is Robotnik?!"
"I don't know mom... but he's not good!"
Prison Island
Sleet brought good news to Dr. Ivo Robotnik.
"Sir, Guess what..."
"What happened Sleet?" Robotnik asked.
"Shadow has killed Dr. Gerald Robotnik!"
"YES, FINALLY! Now it's my turn to take over! All of this technology is mine now!"
Meanwhile, things weren't looking good for Shadow.
"I can't believe you'd do this Shadow. You weren't suppose to kill him!" Maria shouted.
"Maria, I'm sorry." Shadow said.
Maria shook her head and turned away from Shadow.
Green Hills
"Well if that's true, then this will be your first test."
"What's that mom?" Sonic asked.
"You shall use your powers in order to defeat your enemies. If these badniks keep being re-made, then it's up to you to set them free."
Sonic nods at his mother.

"But that won't be enough. These rings will give you a better a chance of surviving. If you don't have any, then you must be very careful. Also, there are gems scattered across our planet - if you collect them, they will give you incredible power. They are called chaos emeralds." Aleena explained.
"Whoa!"
"And I've been waiting for this day Sonic... the only thing your father Jules left for us was this plane right here. The Tornado."
"Wow! So this is my father's plane? Do I get to use it?"
"Only when necessary Sonic. You will need it at some point."
"Only when necessary Sonic. You will need it at some point."
"I'd be so honored to ride in this plane!"
Sonic hopped inside of the Tornado and smiled.
"Remember Sonic, this is your responsibility now. Don't damage it. And don't forget what your mission is. You must save the animals from Robotnik."
"Of course mother! How could I forget anything you say?"
Sonic smiled at his mother and left already. He prepared himself for the adventure ahead.
